Weather was the big story this week as wind early in the week and snow throughout much of the weekend made for tough conditions on the lake. For the few anglers that braved the elements, fishing was decent with trolled red/gold Thomas Bouyants and Olive Wooly Buggers getting most of the bites. Big fish were playing hard to get this week, although a very nice 5lb 9oz rainbow was landed by Jason Bos of Costa Mesa early in the week. He caught the fish on a red/gold Thomas Bouyant. Sunday brought an end to the snow flurries and wind so the fishing is expected to pick up considerably with ideal weather forecasted over the next seven days. On a side note, a hiker spotted a monster brown chasing after a smaller trout late Saturday, a good omen for brown baggers chasing fall trophy brown trout. The water level continues to drop each day and hopes are high that we'll have a single inlet to the west of the island in the upcoming weeks which would be fantastic for the fishing as that scenario would really concentrate the fish and make finding the trout much easier.
