Here we are mid??August already and the fishing continues to be quite good! The water levels are surprisingly good considering the extremely light winter last year.??Things have??been getting started around 7:30 A.M. with a #22-24 female Trico hatch. They have been lighter this week but we should see them for a while yet. You will see the #22 Trico spinners start at around 8:30 or 9. The Caddis migration is still unbelievable and is starting at around 8 and you will see them throughout the day, sizes #16-22. The PMD's (#'s 14-16) are still coming off and start around 10 and last as long as 3 hours.?? Look for the BWO's (#'s 18-22) anywhere from 9 on.??I have been seeing??good Beatis hatches well into the afternoon.??The afternoons have??seen good hopper action, specially if it's windy??and don't hesitate to try a Beatle or?? an Ant. The Caddis hatch has been??fabulous in the afternoon starting around 5 and really gets going just before dark, depending on the wind. Also look for the #22 male Tricos late in the evening, just before dark. You will need the patterns necessary to imitate all of these hatches and be ready to change your fly a lot. The fish are getting a lot wiser as they have seen a lot of good anglers in the past weeks. Practice up on your "getting the fish out of the weeds" skills. We have all of the flies that you will need in our fly shop as well as fishing shirts, fly lines, leaders, tippet and most anything else that you might need.?? The fishing is??great and we can't wait to see you here at the ranch!
