Well, it's almost the end of July and the fishing continues to be great! It has been getting started around 7:00 A.M. with a #22-24 female Trico hatch. You will see the #22 Trico spinners start at around 8, but they won't reach the water until about 8:30 or 9. The Caddis migration is still starting at around 8 and you will see them throughout the day, but the fish will key on them mainly in the morning and again in the evening. Sizes #16-22. The PMD's (#'s 14-16) are still coming off and start around 10 and last as long as 3 hours and theYellow Sallies are all but over. Look for the BWO's (#'s 18-22) anywhere from 9 on. Can you believe that they are still around? Mid day has seen a few hoppers start to apear and don't hesitate to try the old Beatle or even an Ant.The Caddis hatch has been wonderful in the afternoon starting around 5 and really gets going just before dark, depending on the wind. Also look for the #22 male Tricos late in the evening, just before dark. You will need all of the patterns necessary to imitate any and all of these hatches and be ready to change your fly a lot. The fish are getting a little wiser. We have all of the flies that you will need in our fly shop. The water flows are doing fine, with the weeds coming up just a bit. So far, this has been one of the best seasons that I can remember! The fishing is fabulous and we can't wait to see you here at the ranch!

We have had the best early season fishing that anyone can remember! Water levels are perfect although they look like mid-summer flows. The mornings have been starting out with female Trico hatches early, then depending on the wind (or lack there of), by 8:00 we have been seeing good Caddis migrations start upstream and the fish feeding like mad. We are getting good PMD's around 10:30 or so, as well as Yellow Sallies (Little Yellow stones). We are still...... Read More
