The Fishing at Silver Lake in the June Lake Loop has continued to impress all of us over the past several weeks. DFW has been very consistent with stocking 800 pounds of catchables weekly, Monday this past week. We have also continued to see a great number of 2 plus pound Alper's that have held over from their stocking almost two weeks ago. The weather has been a slight bit cooler lately that has also helped to start to lower the water temperatures but the fish are still hanging out in the deeper cooler waters. Grant Lake has also seen some really nice fish this past week mostly from float tubes at the South end of the lake. Anglers have seen good results this past week again using Berkley Mice Tails in any color and flavor, Salmon Egg Red, Garlic and Rainbow Glitter Garlic in Power Baits both from shore and out on a boat. Trolling has seen some good results using Tasmanian Devils, Rapalas and some streamers like Olive Matukas, and Rainbow Hornbergs. Also seeing good results this week has been Thomas Buoy ants, Kastmasters and the good old fashioned worm. Try drowning a worm along the shore or out at the far South end of the lake early and late in the day and you should see some nice results. The fish are out there but they won't just jump into your boat, you do have to work a little to get them. The far south end of the lake and along the road side with show some good results and the cooler evening temperatures as we start to head into fall will only help.
