Opening weekend water level update
Crowley Lake - Mammoth Lakes, CA (Mono County)

We have the latest information from DWP and know what to expect for opening weekend water levels. They have started moving water out of Crowley Lake, but there is a lot coming in and the process will take a while, so we do not expect to see the levels come down till around May 1st. This means we will be opening up with record high lake levels that will significantly impact our operations.
Most of the shorelines are under water, we have already said this but want to remind everyone that we will not be able to open shoreline camping and will only have very limited space in Beaver Cove for walk-ins. We do not recommend rigs over 25ft. There are several Forest Service campgrounds as well as Brown’s Campground that will be open with walk-in sites.
North Landing – We know this is very disappointing, but we will not be opening North Landing for camping or day use. All of the lakefront roadways are submerged and impassible. We will open access to the North Landing as soon as the water levels come down enough to support vehicle travel. For people that normally visit the Chalk Cliff area, you can expect all of that to be submerged as well.
Crowley Lake Fish Camp does not offer towing service for vehicles so everyone needs to be aware of the shoreline and do not attempt to drive too close.
Boat Rentals- Our boats have all been reserved, but we do get cancellations and have a waitlist, so send us an email to be put on the list, [email protected]. Your chances can be good for getting small aluminum boats.
Boat rental parking will be the same as usual and will line up along the roadways to the right upon entry.
Dock Spaces- We plan to accommodate all of our dock reservations, our rental docks are all booked at this time as well. We will have trailer parking in the lot behind our warehouse and a few overflow areas. If you are a local joining us and have room for your trailer at your home for a few more weeks that would help us to accommodate a few more opener visitors. If you are camping with us, we ask that you keep your boat trailers in your campsite please.
Sorry, but we cannot offer any RV storage till after the Opener.
Boat Storage and Day Use- We plan to be able to accommodate some boat storage and day use guests as well. We do not have enough parking to allow for anyone to keep their trailer hooked to their vehicle, all boat trailers will need to be parked and stored in one of the designated areas. The front parking areas are small and will be for vehicles only! We plan to have parking attendants to help direct trailer parking.
We also plan to offer some day use parking for shore fishing on Hilton Point and our front shore line. Please be aware that there will be a small road closure area due to flooding, please do not pass through our cones. You can still access Hilton Point and drive the loop out front and past the Ramada’s.
I know Opener is an important tradition to many families but you can also consider getting together and visiting us later in the season. We should resume normal operations within a few weeks after opening. Please understand that this is an issue beyond our control, and DWP has a huge & difficult responsibility in providing water to California. As much as we are disappointed, we should all do our best to cooperate and have a great Fishmas.
Our opening weekend hours and other information is posted on our website @ crowleylakefishcamp.com
