We are hard at work getting our marina set up and ready to go! Fortunately, with such a mild winter, we were able to work during most of the off season making many necessary improvements and repairs to the facility you’ll notice including; lots work on the RV Spaces and Cabins, fish cleaning station repair with new sinks, new dock walkways, boat motors and furniture, and a new water conveyance system.
Opener Water Level Update:
The lake is still currently full to the spillway, which is not good. We’ve heard that DWP will start releasing lots of water starting on April 15th, only ten day prior to us opening our gates. This should mean that our roadways will become accessible, and we will have more parking, some launch ramp, but we still do not expect to have enough beach area to open camping on the shoreline or the North Landing. Many of the roads at the North Landing are impassible, we hope the water release allows us to open access for day use fishing but we do not plan to open for camping.
Our RV Park, and Whiskey Bay campground are booked, we do plan to open Beaver Cove for first come first serve camping, but expect it to be full shortly after we open the gates on Thursday. We do not recommend any rigs over 25ft. Please check nearby Forest Service campgrounds or get accommodations in Bishop or Mammoth so you can join in the fishing here on Opening Day.
If you have a dock space with us or are already booked to join us, please pay attention to updates, and to our staff and parking assistants opening weekend. It is important you follow instructions so you do not cause accessibility issues for other anglers, or you will surely get skunked.
Stay tuned!
