South Lake Tahoe, native Robert Varik grew up trout fishing with his father, and is now well known in the west coast angling community for catching trophy lake trout, rainbows and browns on Lake Tahoe and other high sierra waters. Rob's catches are all the more impressive in that he fishes in a 12 foot aluminum fishing boat and a Hobie kayak. Using what he calls the "stealth factor" of a small, quiet fishing platform to approach wary, wild trout, Rob employs a variety of advanced techniques to consistently catch trophies.
