Water Conditions:
Silver Lake has been fishing the best of all the lakes in the Loop. Don't forget to bring a few layers of long underwear, because it is still cold in the morning and evening.
Fishing Conditions and Hatches:
The water in all of these fisheries is still cool. Rush Creek is at 55 cfs. Fishing Conditions and Hatches: Silver lake is still fishing the best with recent larger fish being taken stripping Matukas and using mayfly and midge nymphs under an indicator with a floating line. Gull Lake has been producing with streamers as well. No great reports on Rush Creek yet although it may be worth a try with attractor nymphs. Fishing the inlet area of Grant Lake can be productive soon with Callibaetis nymphs and drys, but there are no reports confirming this hatch yet.
Recommended Flies:
-Streamers-
Doc's Twin Lake Special in olive or Brown, Matukas, Pop's Bugger in Black or Olive, Rudy Eye Leech, Mini Leech -Nymphs-
#18Tiger or Zebra Midge, #18 OptiMidge in Gray, #16 Copper John, #16 Prince Nymph, #16 and 18 Pheasant Tails.
Guides Hint: At Silver Lake, fish the back side around the weeds with either sinking lines and streamers or a midge pattern and a pheasant tail with an indicator. Don't be afraid to move from spot to spot after you have hooked a few fish.
