Angler Gail DuBlanc reported in on the opening weekend at Topaz Lake. My family fished all three days opening weekend. January 1, was down right cold with a temp of 16 degrees. My son (Brian) and I fished together that day. We trolled until 1pm and caught 17 fish. On average 2 pounders. Biggest two were 2.7 lbs & 2.6 lbs. The next day my son and his wife Sharon went out and caught limits between them two. The third day my husband (Donald) my son (Brian) and his kids all went. My granddaughter (Katelynn) reeled in two by herself and helped clean them too. She is only 5 years old and is a great fisherman already.  Between us all we caught 17 that day. We did not catch any fish with tags. They are still out there.
