Derek Burton came all the way from Idaho to come to his hometown and take over the derby lead!!! We always called him the “fish whisperer” as a young man but he’s never won the derby!!! This 6# 8 ounce beauty was

24 3/4” and escaped him this morning but not this afternoon!!! Caught him on scalpin fly and had to go “in” to bring him to shore! Such such such a joy to see Derek and his young ”uns”. So so happy for him been fishing this derby since he was a kid! Worth the 2 day license!!!
