CDFW to Hold Public Meeting Regarding Pacific Halibut Management

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) invites the public to attend a meeting on Thursday, July 18, 2013 to discuss management of Pacific halibut in California. The meeting will be held from 6-8:30 p.m. at the Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center Conference Room, 921 Waterfront Dr., Eureka.

The meeting will provide information on Pacific halibut management and include a discussion on possible changes to the recreational fishery in 2014. The public is encouraged to provide input to managers and representatives to assist in the development of Pacific halibut management for 2014 and beyond.

Pacific halibut fishing regulations are developed through a collaborative regulatory process involving the Pacific Fishery Management Council, the National Marine Fisheries Service, the California Fish and Game Commission and the International Pacific Halibut Commission.
