Fishing at Silver Lake in the June Lake Loop has slowed slightly this past week due to some colder, normal, spring like conditions. However, what do you expect after a spectacular Opening Weekend that we had. Fishing still showed some promise with some great catches from the shore near "The Point" where Alger Creek dumps into Silver Lake or along the South side of the lake where the Aspens are down and in the water. Look for some good fly hatches over the next week as we are supposed to have some great weather again over the next week to two weeks. Look for some small Nymphs, Mosquitos and some Grey Hackle Peacocks to be working good on the creeks or along the shore of the lake and look for the always consistent Green Wooly Bugger to work as a streamer. If you want to throw or troll some lures, Thomas Buoyants are working great especially in a Gold / Red pattern or a Pink or Red Tasmanian Devil. From the shore still fishing, worms are always a good bet this time of year, as is Berkley Power Bait in a Rainbow Glitter Garlic flavor or a Chartreuse Flavor.
