Fishing picked up considerably this week after the lake received a nice plant of fish from the DFG. The big fish are still playing hard to get but there are a ton of big fish in there still. Rainbow Powerbait and inflated nightcrawlers were the best producers for still fishing this week. Red/Gold Thomas Bouyants and Gold Kastmasters produced for lure tossers while Pumpkinseed Trout Traps and Natural Berkley Powerworms were the hot ticket for jig fisherman. A good tip is to use a meal worm or a piece of crawler on the jig to add some scent. This often produces more bites and a better percentage of successful hook-sets. Big fish last week was a 2lb 9oz Alper caught by Robert Harris of Tehachapi, CA. He fooled the fish with Rainbow Powerbait. ?Į
