The fish are still hanging deeper so trolling has been very productive. Folks hauling crawler/flasher combo, silver Triple Teasers, or the blue/silver Thomas Bouyant or Cyclone in the main lake at 35 to 40 feet are knocking 'em dead. Some folks who don't have lead core outfits are using keel sinkers or big egg sinkers and a swivel to get their lures down a bit and they're doing pretty good that way. Surface trolling the Gold 1/6oz Thomas Bouyant in the back of the lake was reported to be ridiculously good with anglers Jeff & Marianna Krpan of Placentia, CA reported having caught over 70 fish over three days using this tactic. Trout worms, nightcrawlers, and Lemon Twist Powerbait are ruling right now. All three are producing lots of limits. Action at the inlets has slowed a bit but there are still some fish stacked up there. The trophy rainbows were seen but not often caught this week but a fresh batch of Alpers are planned for this coming week so the big fish bite should pick up.
