It's gametime anglers! Lower Owens River is down to a perfect flow, days are nice, and trout are biting! The last week has seen the river come down to prime shape and fish are eagerly responding to properly presented flies. Nymphing has been producing the bulk of the fish, with some days seeing short periods of good action on dries. Flashback pheasant tails (16-18) and tiger midges (18-20) have been hot under the indicator, while the limited dry fly action has been on blue wing olive (16-18), parachute adams (16-18) and the trusty elk hair caddis (16-18).

Winter fishing in the Owens Valley is just getting underway with some great opportunities to get on some biting fish. Now is the time to plan your trip and take in the beauty of the Owens Valley in winter!
