Convict Creek was stocked

yesterday, 9/9 by CDFW!

Daytime temperatures are starting to drop a bit which will make for great Fall fishing in the Eastern Sierra! Rain is in the forecast for early next week. The calm before a storm may be one of the best times to catch trout.

Trout respond to sudden changes to their environment by feeding heavily. Live bait, such as nightcrawlers, move slower in colder temperatures, making them more enticing to fish. They also remain alive for approximately five minutes while under water.

Nightcrawlers along with Pink Lemonade colored, Garlic scented PowerBait and Salmon Eggs have been successful for anglers this past week. The majority of anglers have been catching and releasing.

Keep in mind when you handle bait, you risk contamination from whatever you may have on your hands that may deter the fish. Hand sanitizer and sunscreen are a big turn off to fish.
