February 10th is the date to be here!! The Bishop Trout Rodeo, hosted by Southwest Council Fly Fishers International is coming right up!! But this isn't just for fly fisher folks!!
From the organizers: "The Southwest Council thought it would be fun to have a safe and fun gathering. Trout Rodeo is a one-day, catch and release, fishing event. It is open to fly fishing, lure fishing and even Tenkara! It is even open to Professional Fishing Guides (but they get to compete separately). The idea is to catch, measure and photograph your fish (and let them go). The more landed "inches" you have, the more raffle tickets you will win to enter into one of our many prize buckets (and you can buy more tickets at the gate, too!).
Rather than limiting the fishing areas to the Lower Owens and Pleasant Valley Reservoir, we are expanding the area to Long Ears in the north (Upper Owens) all the way down to Independence in the south. You still need to be fishing waters that are designated as open and follow all DFW regulations on this matter."
