Wow! Convict Lake has been putting out many whoppers again this week. We stocked the lake with 500 pounds of trophy size rainbows that weigh 4 pounds or larger.
Anglers are catching these lunkers all around the lake from the shore or trolling offshore. Trolling Tasmanian Devils and Kastmasters at 35 to 40 feet has brought in many of the big ones. Inflated night crawlers, pinched crawlers, and green garlic power bait have once again been the main baits this week. Salmon eggs and an assortment of Sierra Slammers have been working well in the creek.
The hotspots have been around the old Hangman’s Tree, the Handicap Assessable Pier, and as always, the Inlet.
The Ambush Derby is getting a wonderful response with all the big ones we are stocking. There are many anglers that have caught their 14 inch or larger fish to qualify for their entry to the $6,000 in prizes! The Derby will continue until Nov 15th.
Don’t forget we have new store, marina, and Aspen Grill hours. The store is open daily from 8:00 AM to 7: 00PM Monday through Saturday. Sunday hours are now 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
