Opener Update - 4/5/2023

Crowley Lake has started to thaw...a bit. We have open water! Now we need some warmer weather and wind to get it going. With opener less than a month away, we're all hoping that's the case as the forecast looks favorable. As of now, it's all systems go for opener. Should any information arise otherwise, we'll share it immediately. Look for another update next week as conditions should improve. With this record snowpack, whenever the season does start, good times will be aplenty! Runoff will be intense, lake will be full, which means more bugs and active fish. We expect a great season of trout fishing. Also, for all you perch lovers or anyone looking for a change of pace from trout fishing, we've added a new trip...

~ NEW TRIP ANNOUNCEMENT! ~

With so many requests to exclusively target Sacramento Perch, we're offering a Perch Special Trip that will focus on these feisty fish from about mid May until about early July (maybe later). For those that like to keep fish to eat or just want a change of pace from trout fishing, we target Sacramento perch, also known as Crowley chicken as they are great eating. We target them in shallow water with light gear, making for fun fishing for adults and kids alike. They average about 1/2 to one pound each with 2+ pound fish common. With a limit of 25 perch per angler, it's not hard to see why so many people like targeting these for the fun and table fare! Catch and release is always an option on these trips as well.
