Ever watch that television series “Life Below Zero”? That’s exactly what it has been looking and feeling like out at Pyramid Lake. Maybe not quite below zero, but monstrous storms have churned up the lake from every direction and have the fish in a frenzy. We have seen it all; gale force winds, downdrafts, blowing snow, rain, big waves, and single track snowy roads on Pyramid Highway. All of this has resulted in terrific fishing conditions, with that being said you better be prepared for this when you come out. We are on the tail end of a system right now, and looks like a few more are moving in soon as well. Layer up well, and make sure you have water resistant/proof jackets, warm socks, hand heaters, and back up clothes in case your one of those that likes to lose balance and take a dip in the lake, it happens more than you think!. Remember, wool is your friend in this type of weather, try to steer away from anything cotton if you can. Don’t forget a good pair of sunglasses (We prefer and suggest Bajio Sunglasses) to keep the sun, snow, dust, wind, and water out of your eyes.
