The lake thawed a couple weeks ago. I fished with Tom Blotter from Minden Nv just after the ice out. We trolled large stick baits over the rocky areas. Tom got into a large fish which he fought for awhile until it threw the hook. We got back into it and fished for a couple more hours. We stopped and threw some spoons on the north end of the lake, where I was lucky enough to hook into a large mackinaw. After 25 minutes or so and help of Tom guiding the boat. We landed a 10.8 lb mackinaw using an ultra lite pole and 8 lb test. That was a true rush of adrenaline I will remember for along time.
Good luck on your next fishing adventure. If you have a question. a report in our local fishing area or have a photo of your catch, send it to [email protected]. Hope to see you on the waters. Good fishin' and tight lines.
