We love you, We understand your Might and Fury!!!! But we are done and ready for some steady summer sun and fun!! It has been another roller coaster ride of weather here in the beautiful Eastern Sierras with Rain, Wind, Cold and a slight glimpse of Sun. Needless to say, the fishing has been a struggle and the catching side of fishing has been even harder. The water is still cold due to all the snow melt from the winter dumping into the lake which keeps those fish a little slow in the feeding department. Change has to be on the horizon and if we all think good thoughts and thank mother nature for all the much needed moisture she has given us, maybe she will send us some of those beautiful Blue Bird, Sunny Days she has stored up for so long. We can only Hope!!!
Anglers that have been able to get out and fish have seen the most luck using the standard affair in baits, like Night Crawlers, Berkely Dough Baits, Berkely Mice tails, Berkley Pinch Crawlers (Man!! I should get paid from Berkely for Pimping their items). In the land of lures, as always Thomas Buoyant Gold/Red is popular and shows some great results, as does anything that has some bright vibrant colors to attract those trout to come and take a nibble. For our Fly Anglers – that is a tough question since we have been cold still. Some guys have done well tossing some larger streamers from their fly rod or spinning set up, using Olive Matuka, Black Wooly Buggers with Red Gill and even same Rainbow Hornberg. Its early so do your scouting and mix it up.
We are on the schedule to be stocked again this week by DFW but I’m not telling a fish story when I say that there are lots of fish out in Silver Lake, things will turn here real quick and before you know it we will be complaining that the water is to hot and needs to cool down. We wouldn’t be fishermen if we didn’t complain why we aren’t catching fish. It would never be our fault!!! Keep smiling and Keep fishing!! Things Aren’t That Bad!!
See You at The Lake!!! and Think Warmer Thoughts!!!
