Water Conditions:GOOD
s are 53c.f.s. as of 8-2 with clear water.
Fishing Conditions and Hatches:GOOD
Look for fish in the back eddies working the surface at all times of the day and you will be able to have great success on dry flies. From small midges, to mayflies, to hoppers w ith a good caddis hatch in the evening, if the wind lays down. Also. It has been crowded, so a little communication and etiquette can go a long way. Don't be afraid to ask someone witch way they are working (up or down stream) and go the opposite. There is plenty of fish everywhere for everyone.
Lot's of people, so some of the fish are getting very wary, especially with the water so low. You must try to be stealthy when approaching the stream. This may give you a shot at some of the larger fish that are out in feeding lanes. Instead of walking up and going OMG!!! Did you see that? "N0, See what?"
Recommended Flies:
DRIES-
Trico emergers and spinners #20-#22,parachute caddis and hoppers#16-#12 foam beetles, drowned ants and callibaetis spinners. NYMPHS-red copper johns, caddis pupa and larvae(tan or green),p/t nymphs
Guide's Hint: Watch for very subtle takes when fishing sub surface?Ķ
