The East is running at 248 cfs right now, it has fluctuated a little this week but this is still a pretty good flow to fish. As we get into the hotter part of the summer the fishing typically toughens up, this has happened on the East, as usual. There has been a lot of pressure over the holiday week and the fish are getting much tougher to fool. The areas with less angler traffic have been a bit better, like the Sceirine, Rosachi and the Cali side below the bridge but you’ll need to be on your game to have some action. The water temps are still safe and we’ll keep an eye on that to make sure the fish are healthy. All that being said, we are still getting some very good reports from the river, not from every angler but certainly from a decent percentage of them. The anglers who are having the best success are fishing early in the morning then taking a break mid day, then returning in the late evening as the sun goes down. We have had a couple good reports on streamers as well as some good reports on dries here and there though they have been inconsistent, still the best technique is nymphing.
