Well, the H-Pond is officially thawed out! I fished it today with a friend and though the fishing wasn’t red hot we did manage to land a half dozen fish and farm a few more in about 2 hours. For me they were taking zach attack leeches and soft hackles and for my buddy they were taking small midges under a dry. The fish are strong and healthy and seemed to have survived the winter just fine. There are some weeds to contend with on the far side but they’re not too bad. There were barely any bugs hatching while we were there, I’m thinking that if the weather stays warm the water temps should come up a bit and it should start getting really good over the next few weeks. I’ll keep you updated as best I can!
