The lake level is dropping slowly, but there is still plenty of access to launch a boat. Most anglers have been catching rainbows in the 12-14 inch class. Flashers and a half a worm has been most productive. Shore anglers have been using do fair at the spillway area. Some have walked down to Woods Creek tossing kastmasters or using powerbait or salmon eggs. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife planted the lake recently with catchable Rainbow trout. For the larger rainbows and mackinaw trout, I would recommend going deeper on your troll. For more information stop by the Caples Lake Resort.
Good luck on your next fishing adventure. If you have a question. a report in our local fishing area or have a photo of your catch, send it to [email protected]. Hope to see you on the waters. Good fishin' and tight lines.
