Gull Lake Produced the Largest Stringer Again!
Greetings from Gull Lake Marina. For the third consecutive year in a row, Gull Lake produced the largest stringer of fish in the June Lake Loop. This time competing against others using five fish, Mr. Craig Fournier's stringer weighed 18 pounds 3 ounces with only four fish!
Fish caught weighing over three pounds enabled many lucky fishermen to spin the wheel of prizes. Mr. Bill Milo of Anaheim, California, received a $500 cash prize for his skillful catch. The largest fish caught on opening day out of Gull Lake was a whopping 9 pounds 4 ounces caught by Mr. Scott Olafson of Garden Grove, California. Chef Ethan Brizzi served bacon-wrapped shrimp and smoked trout to anglers strolling up on the docks. The weather was spectacular and a good time was had by all.
Gull Lake promises to continue its aggressive stocking policy. In addition to county plants and direct purchases of Alpers trophy trout, we are very pleased to announce post opener receiving over 500 pounds of browns and rainbows averaging more than three pounds provided by the Bridgeport Fish Enhancement Foundation.
Gull Lake Marina would like to thank all who attended this year's opener, and for those who could not join us, we hope you will visit us soon. Remember, there is no charge for private boat launch and coffee remains only a dime a cup. Please visit our newly redesigned website and live webcam at www.gulllakemarina.com.
