This fish was caught in the causeway at 30′ on a copper/orange speedy shiner covered in Pro-Cure Trout bait sauce at 2.8mph. Fillets are compared to those of a 16″er., Work Sharp sharpeners keep my Williams Co. Knives sharp enough to make my job filleting easy whether on a fish large or small. Thanks, Captain Joe”

We had a great day!” He also reported, “Bass are holding close to the shore and hitting on just about everything they see! This is a great time to come out and see the quality fish Lake Camanche has available. please remember to release bass quickly this time of year so they can return to their nesting beds.”

Another post to Gold Country Fishing Report Mju Mju wrote on 4/29, “Took the wife out fishing. Ended up with 3 in 3 hours of fishing at Camanche. Started off with this 6.2lb biggy. Main lake about 40 on the downriggers. See them jumping. Couldn’t get anything close to the surface to bite.”
